Sonarr's calendar
Unshackle tries its series at their release time, or at the first sync after airing. Add any other series in one tap, or hide the ones you don't follow.
Unshackle
How it runs
unshackle serve downloads the episodes: started here by Unshacklarr, or running elsewhere.
unshackle from the PATH. Otherwise its full path, e.g. the .venv/bin/unshackle of a git clone.serve: api_secret of its unshackle.yaml. Empty keeps the saved one.Folders
Where Unshacklarr finds the downloads, the cookies and unshackle.yaml, as it sees them.
Other Unshackle servers
More unshackle serve, one behind a VPN say: a service downloads with the one picked for it in Download options, Per service, else with this one.
Sonarr
Connection
How Unshacklarr reaches Sonarr, to see what is missing and hand it the downloads.
Downloads folder
Sonarr imports each episode from there: the same folder, as Sonarr sees it.
In your browser
For the links from a series to its page in Sonarr.
TMDB
What Sonarr lacks: where each series streams, and its episode titles in its own language.
Automation
What Unshacklarr does on its own: look for new episodes, try them at their release time, tidy up.
Regular sync
Looks for the episodes Sonarr is missing, and downloads the ones their service has.
After that, an episode is downloaded by hand, from its series.
At a release time
For a series with a release time: its new episode is tried again and again, from that moment.
After the download
Sonarr imports each episode, or it waits in the downloads folder for you to import it by hand. A series can say otherwise.
Downloads left waiting
A file Sonarr kept, or a failed import, waits in the downloads folder: see Activity, Waiting in downloads.
Language and region
Your language, where you watch, and the clock release times and syncs follow.
Language
For this browser only. The page reloads in it.
Where you watch
Which streaming services the Schedule shows, and where a series' links are looked for.
Clock
Release times and the automatic sync follow this time zone.
Download options
Added to every unshackle dl. Each level adds to the one before, and wins over it for the same option.
- 1Every series
- 2Its service
- 3The series itself, on its page
For every series
Unless its service or the series itself says otherwise.
Per service
After the defaults, for every series on that service: --profile alt for one, --proxy ca for another.
Languages
An episode with none of them is not downloaded: it waits, and is tried again at each sync.
Quality
Before each download, the episode's real tracks are listed: the first step of its ladder that has one is downloaded, nothing outside the ladder.
Every series downloads by
Unless its service (Download options, Per service) or the series itself picks another. Off: --quality and the other options decide, as before.
Cookies
Getting them
Log in to the service in your browser.
Export its cookies with a browser extension: cookies.txt for Firefox ↗ or Get cookies.txt LOCALLY for Chrome ↗.
Then add the file here with Add cookies.
A service that logs in with a username and password (in unshackle.yaml) needs none.
CDM
Notifications
Messages to Discord, Telegram, ntfy, Pushover, e-mail and 100 more, through Apprise, and to this device.
Where to send
This device and your addresses. Each address takes the messages ticked on its line.
What to send, and when
Off here: off for every address and this device. The bell in the page keeps them all.
Sonarr says an episode has aired, but its service still does not have it.
After this long, one Needs a look message tells you (“Still unavailable”), once per episode.
Handy to spot an episode the service will never have, or a numbering that does not match.
What a message looks like
On Discord, and on a phone (this device, ntfy, Telegram, Pushover…).
Recently sent
The last messages that went out, and whether each address took them.
Activity history
Each download's card and its full output, in the Activity tab.
What is kept
Whichever limit comes first: older downloads go, the newest stay.
Debug mode
Each download's output says much more: Unshackle's debug log, every call to Sonarr, the job as serve reports it.
Account
The password that opens Unshacklarr, on every device.
Change the password
At least 8 characters.
Every other device is logged out and stops getting push notifications; this one stays in.
API key ✓ Saved
For other programs: a script, Home Assistant, Shortcuts.
It opens the /api/v1 routes only, never the password, cookies or settings.
Lost the password?
It cannot be read back, only replaced, from the server.
Settings and series stay as they are; every device logs in again.
docker exec -it unshacklarr unshacklarr reset-passwordBack up the settings
Everything but the password: the series, their options, the notifications, the keys.
The file holds your API keys and notification addresses: keep it private.
Sign in through a reverse proxy
When Authelia, Authentik or another proxy already asks who you are: it passes your name in a header, and Unshacklarr opens without its own password.
The password is still asked again before the most sensitive changes.
